What do you treat my yard with?
We use all natural, organic, eco-friendly, pet and child safe products that are cedar oil based.
How long before I can use my yard after a treatment?
We recommend waiting about 30 minutes after being treated, long enough for the treatment to dry, before you can go back to enjoying your property free of biting pests!
How long does a treatment last?
Treatments typically last for 21 days.
Are you licensed and insured?
Yes! SafeYard is fully licensed and insured to keep you and your family secured and protected.
Are all of your technicians certified?
Yes, all of our technicians have completed all required courses and exams from the Department of Conservation and are licensed and certified with them. They also go through rigorous training from us before going into the field.
How frequently should my yard be treated?
We recommend treating your property every 15 to 21 days to maintain a pest free yard. When you sign up for a season program with us, we will maintain your property every 15 to 21 days so that you can enjoy your property pest and worry free.
Are your treatments pet safe?
Yes, not only are they pet-safe, they are also safe for you and your entire family. We use cedar based solutions that are all natural, child and pet safe, and even eco-friendly.
What happens if I am not happy with my treatment?
Simply contact us within 14 days of the treatment and with our 100% Pest Freedom Guarantee we will come back and re-treat your property, no questions asked, free of charge.
How do you treat for mosquitoes, fleas and ticks? How does it work?
Our certified technicians use state of the art equipment to target mosquitoes and other nuisance pests where they like to rest during the day; in dark, cool, shaded, moist environments such as under the leaves of bushes and shrubs or underneath decks. We also treat your lawn where gnats and no-see-ums tend to be.
Does the treatment kill mosquitoes, fleas and ticks?
Yes! The treatments will effectively kill the mosquitoes, fleas and ticks that get sprayed and will even keep them away from the treated areas for up to 21 days.
What happens if it rains on the day of my treatment?
If it rains or is too windy before treatment, your property will be marked as non-serviceable and rescheduled as soon as possible. You will receive an email notification notifying you of this as well. If the rain starts after the treatment is completed, as long as the treatment has had time to dry it should remain effective for up to 21 days. The solution is micro-encapsulated and will bond with the soil and foliage and will naturally degrade over time. If it seems like it has been washed out and is not effective, simply contact us within 14 days of the treatment and we will come back free of charge and re-treat your property with our 100% Pest Freedom Guarantee!
Do the treatments prevent any other bugs?
Yes, though the treatments are targeted at mosquitoes, fleas, and ticks, they will also help to prevent other annoying pests such as chiggers, gnats, flies, mites, no-see-ums and many other problem pests; helping you and your family enjoy your property to the fullest.
I have automatic sprinklers, do I need to do anything with them for my property to be serviced?
If you can turn them off for the day of treatment that would be helpful. We can only treat your property when it isn’t wet as this affects the bonding process of our solutions.
Do you service commercial locations?
Yes, we are here to help keep you safe from biting pests, whether it be at your home or business. We go where the pests go!

Does anyone need to be home when you treat my property?
No. You will get an email notification the day before we are coming to perform the service. It is important that any gates are unlocked and no pets are outside for our technicians to be able to provide services. If your property is locked or a pet is left outside, your property will be skipped and you will be notified of the reason we had to skip your property. Upon completion of the service, you will get an after service email notification that your property has been secured and protected.
How do I login to my customer portal?
When you sign up with us we will email you a portal registration email along with your order confirmation. All you need to do is click on the link in the email or click on the “LOGIN” button on our website homepage. When you are redirected to the portal, click on “CREATE A LOGIN”. Fill in the information requested by using the information provided in the portal registration email. If you didn’t receive your portal registration email or you need help with getting access to the portal, contact us at support@safeyard.com or call us at 844-SAFEYARD and we will be happy to help.
What types of information can I view from my customer portal?
You can view all of your billing history, view and update your payment information on file, and if for whatever reason, you are dissatisfied with a treatment, you can even request a service call from it.
How much does it cost?
We base our pricing off of your property size so you are never paying for more than you get. We believe in providing our customers fast, streamlined, transparent pricing and booking.
How do I book a service?
You can easily and quickly price and pay on our website. All you have to do is provide your address and information, choose a service, and submit your order. If you prefer to speak to someone, you can simply contact us at 844-SAFEYARD and one of our friendly staff will be glad to assist you in booking your service and answering any questions you may have.
Why does SafeYard use all natural products instead of synthetics?
We believe it is important to have the least amount of lasting effect on the environment around us. Harmful synthetic chemicals leave a residual on the soil and plant foliage that is treated. These can unintentionally harm pollinators and other insects that are beneficial to us as well as our environment. Since there is a safe and effective option to remove and keep away dangerous pests without harming good insects or the environment, we believe this is the right way to service our customers. Do you offer party or event treatments?
Yes, we offer party and event treatments, perfect for special occasions to protect you and your guests from biting pests. You can purchase a single treatment instead of the full season and let us know what date we need to treat the property by. We just ask that you give us at least 7 days notice to perform the service or we may not be able to accommodate.
What is considered a full season?
Our full season is April 1 through October 31 but you can sign up and get started at any time.
Can I sign up for a full season after the season has begun?
Absolutely! We will automatically calculate how many treatments are remaining for the season so you will only be charged for exactly how many treatments you need. Unlike our competitors, we don’t upsell you with more treatments in a shorter time frame.
Will the treatment affect my pond or swimming pool?
No, our treatments won’t have any affect on your swimming pool but the natural oils used are toxic to aquatic life. Our technicians are trained to take great care not to get any spray into these areas and we do provide other treatment methods to safely treat your fish ponds for mosquito larvae.
Will my lawn and plants get hurt by the treatments?
No, our products are plant based and will bond with the soil and foliage effectively keeping pests at bay for 21 days without causing any harm to your landscape, you or your family.
My lawn gets cut weekly, will this affect how long the treatment is effective for?
No, this won’t affect how long the treatment lasts. So long as our treatment had enough time to dry, it will have bonded with the whole blade of grass, way more than gets cut from mowing. It will still effectively repel pests for up to 21 days. Keeping up on your lawn maintenance will also help keep certain pests like ticks away from that area.
